Sudhir Vyakaranam, MD, MPH, FASN, FNKF

Bio

Dr. Vyakaranam has been taking care of patients with kidney disease in the Michiana region since 2011 when he graduated from Nephrology Fellowship at University of Cincinnati. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at Drexel University School of Medicine in Philadelphia. Dr Vyakaranam has MD degree from Gandhi Medical College, India. Interest in community health, led him to pursue and obtain Master of Public Health degree from University of Illinois at Springfield.

He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Nephrology. He is also a certified Hypertension specialist

Dr. Vyakaranam loves taking care of patients with kidney ailments- from chronic kidney disease, acute kidney failure, electrolyte abnormalities, fluid management, dialysis and post kidney transplant care among others. He actively professes risk factor control in slowing down/ preventing progression of renal disease. As a certified Hypertension specialist, he sees patients with difficult to control blood pressures.

Dr. Vyakaranam is actively involved in teaching medical students and residents. He is Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at IU School of Medicine South Bend.

Dr Vyakaranam is Medical Director for Acute dialysis services in North Central Indiana overseeing quality of inpatient dialysis care at Memorial, St Joseph Regional Medical Center, Elkhart and Goshen Hospitals. He is also Medical Director for Fresenius Blackthorn outpatient Facility. He is also on various committees at local hospitals and national societies.

For his teaching and community service, Dr Vyakaranam has been inducted as a fellow into the prestigious societies of American Society of Nephrology (FASN) and National Kidney Foundation (FNKF).

Beyond Medicine, Dr Vyakaranam spends time with his wife and 2 children. He enjoys reading books and music.
