OUR STAFF

The social workers at Nephrology, Inc. provide education and support for you and your family both before and after you start dialysis. Social workers work closely with the other members of your health care team which includes your doctor, nurses, caregivers and dietitian.

There are currently six social workers at Nephrology, Inc. They are all licensed and most have a Master's degree.



What Do Social Workers Do?

  • Educate you and your family about kidney disease and treatment options
  • Discuss and assist with the many changes that dialysis brings to you and your family's life
  • Provide options for transportation and in-home services
  • Help you find answers to your insurance questions
  • Explore your concerns about death and dying
  • Assist in locating financial resources
  • Talk with you about your emotional needs
  • Help with employment issues/concerns
  • Intervene in times of crisis
  • Provide information about sexual dysfunction
  • Educate about health care decisions
  • Assist you get the medical equipment you need

Kidney Disease Education - Social Workers A Social Worker will meet with you during your first few dialysis treatments to talk with you and your family about any concerns or issues you may have regarding dialysis or other areas of your life.
